| The Robo Lion's 2009 Robot, was called "The Log-On Rover" The name comes from a programming typo. The name stuck. The name was the only error on our robot. We had remarkable success! We never broke down, never broke during a match, and never broke a belt (like what happened at scrimmage every time we would run the robot). We were thrilled with the results! Our best robot yet! Ever heard of the "KISS" rule? "Keep It Simple Stupid" This was the idea behind our bot. We had one conveyer system. Count them, one! We picked up the ball, moved the ball within the robot, and even dumped the balls using the same component. This is really taking the KISS principal to heart! The other component we have is the roller on the top of our robot. Connected to a Fisher Price motor, we really could spit out some balls! We had a slide-pot on our controls that would adjust the speed of the roller. With the slide-pot pushed all the way up, we were dumping balls accurately up to 5 feet! We could shoot 3 balls per second, and after adding 4 more wheels (parallel), and adding the driver's favorite toy, the NoS button, we could fly across the crater and drag whoever was in our path along with us! The rookies need to take a lot of the glory too! This year we had almost every club freshmen working on this robot. The drive team would personally like to congratulate all of you for all of the hard work you put in. We really hope you learned a lot of things that will better your futures in some way or form. One last thing I want to say to you all is, don't give up. You may be the youngest, but that does not mean you don't help. You guys are the ones holding the team together, not the seniors, you guys! Overall, our team, including everyone, has done the best we have ever done. Ranking 19th in our division, getting to semi-finals, building a working robot, and every single one of us getting something life-changing out of it, yea, we have done the best our team has ever done. We didn't win, but we got a lot out of it; and I would never trade that for winning. I think everyone would agree with that statement. Looking forward to 2010 with bright minds, and eyes, the Robo Lions are ready for the challenge and the fun!
